New Stock

It is now late May, and people are starting to come tentatively out of complete shut down. Over the weekend we saw a definite shift from an emphasis on jigsaws and two-player games to a larger range of multiplayer strategy games.

We recently received a range of new (to us) titles. Hopefully, some of these are that one game you've been looking for.

Expedition to Newdale

Expedition to Newdale is the new Oh my Goods! game from renowned designer Alexander Pfister. In this board game adaption of the successful card game, 1 to 4 players from 12 and up compete in different chapters to experience the world of the Longsdale kingdom once again. The story of Expedition to Newdale starts about five years after the events from Oh my Goods! Escape to Canyon Brook, but you don’t need to know the prequels at all. Each chapter of the game lasts about 90 minutes which adds up to around 12 hours of exciting campaign gameplay. And when you found your favourite chapter while playing the campaign, you can always come back and play it again to have even more fun!

Terra Mystica: Merchants of the Seas

The factions of Terra Mystica have opened their doors for business beyond the trading post in Terra Mystica: Merchants of the Seas. More trade flows between the factions with their brand new ships sailing on the rivers. A new large building, the shipyard, upgrades your shipping or range and produces ships with twenty faction board extensions.

Town Builder: Coevorden

Town Builder: Coevorden is a game where players take part in a town building contest to build the most beautiful district. There is a panel of judges and awards players compete for in addition to scoring points for completed buildings. In Town Builder: Coevorden, players will draft multi-use cards from a center row of cards to build their own tableaus. Each town card can be used in 3 ways; as a foundation, as a resource and as a completed building with unique abilities. The players can aim for Awards or the favour of the Judges to gain extra points. The game ends when the players have played through the entire deck of cards a certain number of times based on the number of players. At the end of the game, the player with the most victory points is the winner!

Quarriors! Qultimate Quedition

In Quarriors!, each player plays as a Quarrior competing for glory in the eyes of Quiana, the Empress of Quaridia. Each player starts with an identical set of twelve dice in their dice bag. At the start of the game, creature and spell dice (dubbed "quarry") are dealt at random to form "the Wilds" in the center of the table. As play progresses, players roll their dice to attempt to summon creatures, cast spells, and harness the magical power of Quiddity (the in-game resource) to capture quarry from the Wilds to add to their repertoire and into their dice bag. Players draw and roll six dice a turn from their bag, meaning that controlling bag composition is key to victory.

Quarriors! Qultimate Quedition consists of the Quarriors! base game and all previously released expansions and promotional cards.

Mental Blocks

Mental Blocks is a game of puzzling perspectives, with players trying to complete a puzzle using oversized foam blocks, despite seeing only one perspective of the design. You have to co-operate to complete the puzzle as a team, but you have a time limit, so don't just sit around staring at the pieces. In addition to the time pressure, players have other challenges, such as not being able to talk or to touch certain colour blocks.

MegaCity: Oceania

Gold Coast, Australia, 2100. Construction of the first oceanic MegaCity begins. Tackling overpopulation and rising sea levels has become the planet’s number one priority.

Advances in technology enable us to build towering superstructures on immense floating platforms. You are the next generation of architects called upon to design and build these marvels of structural engineering.

Race to collect contracts, construct beautiful buildings and vie for awards as a unique MegaCity emerges each time you play. It’s a competitive business where prestige points are everything! A combination of dexterity and light strategy, MegaCity: Oceania is the city building game in which you actually build a unique city every time.

Teotihuacan: Late Preclassic Period

Teotihuacan: Late Preclassic Period is a modular expansion which introduces several new options to enrich and expand the game experience. Asymmetrical player powers give each player a unique benefit. A prestigious fourth temple allows unlocking of permanent powerful abilities, while being much more difficult to advance on. Variable effects impact each season and eclipse. New engineering techniques and renewed plans for beautifying the central Pyramid of the Sun offer fresh challenges and possibilities.

Era: Medieval Age

In Era, your dice represent different classes of medieval society as players attempt to build the most prosperous city. The "build" comes into play as players actually build their cities on their boards. You will use beautifully modeled three-dimensional components such as walls, keeps, farms, and other structures. By the end of the game, each player will have a unique city of their very own!

Era: Medieval Age is made even more challenging as players interact with each other in ways such as extortion, scorched earth, and, of course, disease! Hey, this is the Medieval Age, right? Speaking of which, Era serves as the first of a new series of standalone roll-and-build games from Matt Leacock and eggertspiele!

The King's Guild

Centuries ago, the kingdom of Greycastle was founded through a pact between the great guild leaders of the realm. Under the pact, only a guild can rule the kingdom, and only a guild leader may claim the throne. Now, with the king on his deathbed, the Council of the Wise will convene. As one of the guild leaders of Greycastle, you must prove your guild’s prestige so you can take the crown and claim your rightful place as the King’s Guild. The King’s Guild is a new strategy board game where 1-6 players compete to establish the most renowned guild. Lead your guild to prosperity by crafting powerful equipment, sending heroes on quests to earn treasure, and upgrading your guild with unique characters and rooms.
